Doc Spot with Dr. Daniel Boone
What to do about Chronic Pain in Recovery?
One of the dilemmas facing people in recovery, is what do I do if I have a pain issue? Doctors tend to divide pain into 2 main categories, Acute and Chronic.
Acute pain is time limited and there is usually a precipitating event. Such as a sprained ankle or a surgical procedure etc. These can be handled with a combination of non-steroidal...

The problem
The lack of self-acceptance is a problem for many recovering addicts.
Many of the problems we experience in ongoing recovery stem from an inability to accept ourselves on a deep level. We may not even realize that this discomfort is the source of our problem because it is often...

I can’t wait to sit on the lawn while listening to great speakers, getting together Saturday night for the alumni parties and then the Sunday morning meditation on Serenity Hill. This weekend is always a small booster shot to my recovery and a way to connect to where it all began. Check out the schedule here or scan the...

Tweets: Take 2
Back in July I did a Twitter 101 post. This is kind of part 2 so be sure to check it out the first one for the basics.
I recently participated in my first #recoverychat. The recovery community on Twitter is so fun! You are literally having a “conversation” with people all over the country who shows up.
It’s so helpful for just normal stuff too. For instance, I could...
