Vegas? Sober??? Are you sure?
It seems like an oxymoron, doesn’t it? I love the point made in the article “Doing Vegas Sober” by Ruth Fowler. So many of us are scared that nothing will ever be as it was before we came into the rooms. We worry we won’t be able to do anything “fun” like we used to do. The reality is if we have done the work we can go anywhere, our book tells us that. However, its been my experience that my definition of “fun” is different now. It is interesting going to the same places or events with a new perspective. I am in a different place in my life so my experiences are different. In the case of Ruth; she enjoyed a different side of Vegas with the shows, sights and pools. She is still in Vegas, still having fun….it’s just different.
However, sometimes its the same, I recently went to a wedding and danced just as much as my drinking friends. There is one difference though…..I can remember all the fun I had. :)
