Belonging
“When we reached AA, and for the first time in our lives stood among people who seemed to understand, the sense of belonging was tremendously exciting.”
12 & 12, p.57
“To watch people recover, to see them help others, to watch loneliness vanish, to see a fellowship grow up about you, to have a host of friends - this is an experience you must not miss.”
Alcoholics Anonymous, p.89
Oh my gosh, this picture can symbolize so much.  I see my Higher Power protecting and guiding me (and my friends). I see myself staying close to the fellowship and being shown the way.  I see myself as a sponsor working the Steps with my sponsees when I take them through the Steps as I was taken through them.
This is a WE program.

Have you seen Intherooms.com? It is like a private Facebook for people in recovery.  You “join” a 12-Step fellowship, list your anniversary date, and everyone is talking about recovery.  They also have recovery blogs you can follow and speaker tapes to download.   You can connect to people all over the country doing the deal!  If you sign up for the Daily Meditation you will have inspiration waiting for you when you log on in the morning.  Is music your thing?  There are lots of links to recovery radio stations and featured recovery music artists.  A nationwide event list is posted so if you travel a lot you could check and see what 12-step events are in the area.
It really kind of opens up a whole new world.
Disclaimer: La Hacienda does not endorse everything that is represented on Intherooms.com.  As always, take what you want and leave the rest.
